Hello world!

Today as I felt a pull to get away with God just f Today as I felt a pull to get away with God just for fun since it had been awhile, I sat in the warm sun with another book from the university's little library. As I read about the care of bonsai trees, I was exhausted just reading about it:

-make sure you keep them somewhere with sun, but not too much sun because it might dry out
-check their moisture level up to three times a day
-keep them somewhere cool, but not too cold
-if you are working on creating a certain decorative shape, be prepared to wire and hold the shape for over a year, but make sure you cushion the wire so as to not damage the bark. Don't be surprised if even after a year the plant starts settling back into its original form it was in before the training.

Woah talk about high maintenance 🤣 then I realized it sounds embarrasingly a bit like me 💁‍♀️ And in that moment, I felt the Spirit whisper to me, "I like taking care of you, and I'm far more careful and intentional with you than any of these bonsai gardeners."

Hear that today dear friend. God will make sure you get exactly what you need to thrive, and to become the form that he has planned from the beginning: the image of his Son. We can rest in the Vinedressers hand today without fear of lack. All is well.
Because I'm still in that post-retreat emotional h Because I'm still in that post-retreat emotional high of being so in awe of God, here are just a few testimonies of what He did in the women of the Come Away Retreat! So so grateful he is so faithful 😭😭🙏
It's not wasted if it's treasured. God showed us t It's not wasted if it's treasured. God showed us this during our time at The Come Away Retreat. He's a treasurer. We handed Him our rubble from the places in our lives that looked like ruins, and let him hold the pieces and appreciate them because only he knows what happened in the breaking along the way. And just like in the garden, he kneels down so close we can feel his breath, and blows fresh life right into our dust. He's not remaking what once was, one old brick at time; he's creating something entirely new, something that didn't exist before, something that's far better than our original, finite blueprint.

Words always fall short of the masterful weaving that God did in each woman's story, but I will just tell you, every woman got up and shared a testimony of the miraculous healing Jesus did in her life these past few days. Some will be shared later and some are too sacred, but thank you to all those who prayed us through.

God cares about every part of your heart and life, and wants us to be people full of hope. In Christ alone,
your future is:
*full, not empty
*not scary
*a celebration
*void of anxiety
*a level road, not a pit of despair
*marked by companionship
*emptied of guilt and shame
*all planned out
*marked with companionship
*filled with ever-increasing joy
*satisfying
*peaceful and restful

I pray that the work He did at this retreat will spill over into your life as you read and let God of hope so fill you like only he can.

Ps. A special thank you to my dearest team. Your gifts and sacrifices and maturity to continue to support the work even in the middle of such a season of change have been a remarkable testimony of Jesus. None of this happens without you, and I'm praying for buckets of blessings to be poured out on you.

Jon, the way you put everything aside to help me follow God's leading in this has been unmatched. I can't count how many times the weeks leading up you simply offered yourself in asking, "What do you need from me?" And thank for supporting my wild, unrealistic visions, like the neon sign I couldn't afford but you sacrificed your back for hours making for me instead.
As I sipped my coffee the other morning trying to As I sipped my coffee the other morning trying to wake up before the sun was up, I was amazed at the persistence of the loud birds outside the window. It would seem to me they arrived a bit too early, after a lying warm spell made us all believe in true Michigan fashion that spring was here. Here we are in May, sitting in the dark, with it cold enough to snow, and yet these birds didn't give up after some icy weeks and fly back south. They live with a certainty that despite how long the dreary lasts, it will end. Spring will win, and the dutiful singing into the cold dark will turn to a song that rides on the bright warmth of the sun.

If these simple birds don't give up when things look bad and hard, even for a long time, how much more will your Father keep singing his heart out over you until together you taste the warmth of the new season, one that's not just drudgery and exhaustion, but one that makes it all worth it?

Dear friend, God's not getting tired. He's not discouraged as he looks at you and your life. He has a million ideas and solutions to the problems that look impossible to solve. He sees the end from the beginning, and when you run out of strength to keep believing, let His continual song of intercession carry you through.
Happy Easter!! I've been thinking about seeds late Happy Easter!! I've been thinking about seeds lately, and how before there can ever be new life, there has to be a death. Grateful for a Savior who lived that experience with us. To everyone experiencing a measure of loss or selfless sacrifice right now, I pray you would know it won't be wasted. "Every seed buried in sorrow, you will call forth in its time. You are Lord of the harvest calling my hope now to arise." @elevationworship
Dear child of God, you are Holy, Loved, and Beauti Dear child of God, you are Holy, Loved, and Beautiful, through and through. There's no dark corner of your soul, no secret sin, no deep scar, no personality flaw, that the blood of Jesus hasn't seen and covered. Every inch of your being, inside and out, is thoroughly treasured by God. Let him love you, all of you, today.
When God gifts you with something so extravagant y When God gifts you with something so extravagant you never even dared ask for, you just sit in speechless gratitude. That is this trip for us. God is wilder than the wildest dream. And if you're deep in the trenches of the grit and grief of a really tough season, I'm here to tell you from the other side: the season WILL change. I know what it is to be doing good to just keep holding God's hand and putting one foot in front of the other. But maybe this trip that was the icing on the cake of a season of restoration for us can be the whisper of hope you need...the flicker of light at the end of a pitch black tunnel where the enemy keeps whispering, "This is your life now, things will never change." Hear this from the Father's heart instead right now:

"See! The winter is past;
    the rains are over and gone.
 Flowers appear on the earth;
    the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves
    is heard in our land.
The fig tree forms its early fruit;
    the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.
Arise, come, my darling;
    my beautiful one, come with me.” Song of Songs 2:11-13

I pray that your heart is filled with hope that your Father refuses to leave you stuck in despair. Ask him to show you his way-making Love to you today.
